Artist's Comments

I just love the Mexican combination of skulls and flowers, so I wanted to make an another drawing of the Aztec goddess Mictecacihuatl (the queen of the Aztec underworld), but I ended up drawing a mixture of La Catrina (a skeleton in fancy clothes) and Santa Muerte (a skeletal figure usually holding a scythe). Oh, well. At least she's wearing flowers.

I did a skull for Dios de las muertos *I think I spelled it wrong!* in 8th grade and since I didn't know anyone who died, I dedicated it to the animals killed through abuse. But it turned out decent-and I can't paint to save my life!!

Thanks!
That's cool. In Sweden we didn't do anything special at all at All Saint's Day when I was a kid. We just put candles at the graves of our dead. But nowadays it's pretty mixed up with traditions of Halloween.

She sure is. :D
Thank you!
