and her halloween contest. The deal was to draw her character The Makeshift Man and try to make it spooky in some way.

I'm not so good at spooky things, but here's the idea behind the drawing... According to Nordic folklore, you shouldn't sing or in any other way do something that may disturb the dead when you go through a cemetery at night. You see, the dead can be quite cranky (who wouldn't if you're waken up in the middle of your sleep?) and then they might say something to you to make you shut up. Most people get scared out of their wits and sometimes even lose their mind when that happens. According to the stories.

But MM has of course nothing to fear, because the dead are afraid of him.

Really? Because I seem to remember an old superstition that you should whistle when you walk past a graveyard. Anyway, nice work on this pic.

I really like it, especially the way the dead look so fearful of him. You have to be spooky to scare the dead or completely in control.

This is awesome proof that you're great at drawing spooky things! Guh, I'm always so impressed by how nice your black and white art is. And fantastic concept! I was not familiar with this superstition...and it's used so well here with MM just being a jerk, like he is.

That superstition maybe just is a Scandinavian thing, but I figured this was what would happen if MM walked through a cemetery.
