Mommy's Little Girl 2

A dialogue between the goddess Demeter and her daughter Kore (Persephone), page two of four.

Demeter isn't prudish. She's not really trying to prevent her daughter from having sex, but she's doing her utmost to prevent her from getting hurt or abused. She means well, but she's extremely overprotective.

Leukippe was one of the nymphs mentioned as Persephone's playmates in the Homeric hymn to Demeter. Here she's some kind of servant.

Persephone grows mint plants. Mint was sacred to Demeter and Persephone. The barley-drink of the Eleusinian Mysteries (a mystery cult dedicated to the two goddesses) was flavoured with mint. Mint was actually sacred to Hades too (it may have been used in funerary rites and there's also a story of a nymph, that he once took a fancy to, who ended up as a mint plant).

I've just made up that Persephone doesn't sleep much (that's the reason for the dark circles under her eyes), but I don't know if it's due to her tendency to get too absorbed in her botanical work or if she suffers from insomnia.
