Another inked drawing from my sketchbook. Hades and Persephone (I really have too many drawings of them).

When I made it I just thought that it would be fun if Persephone said this, considering she's supposed to be the sweet, innocent spring goddess and Hades is the gloomy god of the dead. Then I started to think what she could mean by it.

Well, my version of Persephone is just as unsociable as Hades, so she could refer to that she's encouraging his "bad" sides. Instead of persuading him to get out more, she makes up plans on how they can avoid as much social interaction with the other gods as possible (with a few exceptions).

She could also be referring to parts of Hades' emotional side that he usually tries to repress. Lust, romantic love and all that kind of stuff. He's not quite comfortable with having these feelings. It's the dark, irrational side that messes up your life.

Hades' expression was quite tricky. He's supposed to smile almost against his will, like he's embarressed for his feelings. The flowers in Persephone's hand are asphodels. And I'm NEVER going to draw her in that dress again. Those patterns took forever.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention one thing. The etymology for the name Persephone is uncertain, but one guess is that it means "Destroyer of light". Isn't that just awesome?
